"You're Welcome" (WIC-out)
When you fell down from the sky
We had to wonder why
Our quiet life would now soon be
A brighter page in history
But that expression on your face
You feel you're out of place
The stars will call your name
But things will never be the same
What I would suggest
Is that you be Earth's most welcomed guest
The sun will shine, the skies are clear
Who knows, you just might like it here
But now I see it in your eyes
And hear it in your voice
You want to return to the skies
But you don't have a choice
Keeping that in mind
(if you look at the sun too long)
You'll go blind
And if you're longing for the place that once was, I'll see you through it
Living here is very easy, because I'll help you do it
And if you're lost with no place else to go, you don't have to fear
'Cause if you never find you're way home, you're always welcome here.
As we live here day to day
You're beginning to enjoy you're stay
It's all right to be on your own
But you never have to be alone
Well now its up to you
You must choose what you'll do
But if you take my advice
It might just make you think twice
Keeping that in mind
(if you look at the sun too long)
You'll go blind
And if you're longing for the place that once was, I'll see you through it
Living here is very easy, because I'll help you do it
And if you're lost with no place else to go, you don't have to fear
'Cause if you never find you're way home, you're always welcome here.
Keeping that in mind
(if you look at the sun too long)
You'll go blind
Tell me nothing troubles you like a dark sun
'Cause you'll find this nothing is something when you have someone
Is it that hard just to change those things you hold most dear?
You're always welcome right here.

This song is a rendition of the theme from "Tenchi Muyo!," one of Chad's favorite animé series.  In a nutshell, this show is about several women from outer space who crash their various ships on Earth and have no way to get home.  Instead, they end up living with a guy named Tenchi, whom they all try to woo in various ways.  Though they drive him crazy, he sympathizes with their plight and lets them stay.  He has even grown fond of them.  But the song can be taken away from the context of the story and be applied to some real and abstract situations.  One interpretation is that it describes someone dealing with a major change in life, and someone else who is there to help in the adjustment.  The words describe a person that is stranded far from home and is very homesick.  The narrator stands as someone sympathetic to that pain, but can only offer help in the dealing with the loss.  Another way to think of this song is that the narrator is trying to console a friend after the loss of a loved one or a dream.  In this case, the home oft mentioned signifies the person or dream that is lost, and the "here" is the next best thing.  Anything along those lines would work as a meaning for this song.  In general, this song is like saying, "I can't offer you what you desire, but I can give you something you may not know you wanted."
